Run query

In this task we'll illustrate how to bring up an existing query and run it on a different ECP, without changing the original query.

Follow these steps:

  1. Start MUT and select an ECP in the ECP List Box .
  2. From the Query List Box , select ceqcom2_ddtvr_rtu_c query .
  3. Open the query ( Mass Update Wizard screen), using one of these 3 methods: (1) click Open Query on the vertical toolbar, (2) select File > Open Query , or (3) type Ctrl + O .
  4. No changes are to be made from screens 1 to 6-Click Next> until you get to the 7 th Mass Update Wizard screen (3 step instructions).
  5. Select another ECP in the ECP List Box .
  6. Open a Telnet (OMP) session ( Virtual Terminal window) for the newly selected ECP, using one of these 3 methods: (1) press OMP on the horizontal toolbar, (2) select OMP > Connect to OMP , or (3) type Ctrl + P .
  7. At the prompt, enter you login and password. You should be at the OMP shell prompt $ -if the OMP prompts you with a menu, select Miscellaneous… and at the sub-menu select OMP Shell .
  8. Click anywhere on the Mass Update Wizard screen to bring it to the front.
  9. Click Next> -MUT executes the DBsurvey and displays the result in the box.
  10. The following steps are the result of executing DBsurvey on the next Mass Update Wizard screen.

  11. Verify results of the query. If the query is successful click Transfer Dump (if not, make corrections using the <Back button).
  12. MUT automatically brings up the Edit Query Output window, including the query name- ceqcom2_ddtvr_rtu_c -in the header for the window, and displays the dumped fields in it.
  13. Click Finish on the final wizard screen to close it.
  14. Click Done on the Virtual Terminal window to close it.
  15. On the Edit Query Output window, use the Menu button to sort, edit and print the output. Then (if needed), use the Script button to create and execute an apxrcv script to update the switch with your modifications.
  16. Click Done on the Edit Query Output window to close it.
